06/01 - Tornado Response # 4

Joplin Response
Field Report # 4

Today is the 11th day of our response to Joplin, MO. We have been on the ground since Day 1. We established a base camp in Joplin with dormitories for our CRI trained responders, leadership and administrators. We have also been partnering with the local house of prayer and set up an outreach ministry tent in a church parking lot on 15th and Connecticut.

In our first week we served several hundred meals a day and ministered to many individuals. There continue to be testimonies of physical healing, decisions for Christ, forgiveness and divine protection.

This second week has different difficulties than the first in that we have fewer responders and the impact zone is so unlivable that there are only a handful of residents in the area. However there’s still plenty of traffic at this busy intersection so we continue feeding and ministering to passersby. Responders are cooking meals with our grills and meat smokers in conjunction with Mark Roye and Blood & Fire San Antonio.

Praise God that our equipment and supplies are being provided, so what we really need this second week are responders who can serve meals and minister to people through compassion and prayer.

Our current plan is to keep the tent going until at least June 8. If you are available to deploy please email deployment@criout.com with your availability and contact info. We also want to thank everyone for their prayers and support as we have labored to bring God’s love to the people of Joplin. donate
