01/30 - Our God is an Awesome God!

Today we went to another evacuation center…

“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” ~Matthew 19:14

Again this morning, we went to another place of refuge to pray for and give bread and coffee. Sean had a couple of words of knowledge. The ones who came forward for prayer in response said they had no more pain after they were prayed for.  Thank You, Healer Jesus!  Their smiles as they moved about more freely spoke volumes of the goodness of God! Also, we prayed for families, workers, and held babies and women in pain.

On our way to the site, I sensed Holy Spirit speak, “just touch them. Your hands are My hands upon them.” So we did. I did not feel a whole lot, particularly, but trust that people experienced Jesus through us as we prayed for hope to be restored, hearts and lives and bodies to be healed, for jobs for the men, for homes and provision.

One thing personally that gripped my heart was a young man who had fallen from a coconut tree a year and a half ago. One aspect of his job was to cover the coconuts while they grew, and he fell from the tree while doing so. He appeared to be paralyzed from the waist down. During the flood, others carried him on his cot up a tree to safety, and he was spared. He has a story to tell, as do multitudes, of God’s intervention in their lives.  Powerful stories of miraculous intervention.

We prayed for full restoration for this young man; although we did not see immediate results, we believe that with continued prayer he will walk again. Will you agree with us in prayer for his total restoration? His name is Ace.

Many cry as they tell their stories of how they called out to God as waters rose and came upon them. One older man told of how he and his family were saved. He shared that his family and others, 14 total, were saved by being able to lodge in a huge tree. There they were in the branches for about 7 hours until waters subsided and they were able to come down. He and his family were saved!

The rest of the team went to the building site today. I have stayed behind at the church to help the women here sort provision that has come in for distribution. Thank you for continued intercession for our team and the people of Mindanao. To be continued! :)  Our God is awesome!!
